Responsibilities

 

As a Contracts and Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements associated with government contracts. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end contract lifecycle, overseeing compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and implementing effective contract management strategies to mitigate risks and optimize performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Contract Management: Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts with government agencies, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure that all contracts are accurately documented, filed, and maintained according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Compliance Oversight: Monitor and enforce compliance with contractual terms, regulations, policies, and procedures related to government contracts. Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting government contracting and incorporate necessary adjustments into contract management practices.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and issues related to government contracts and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Proactively assess contract performance, identify deviations from contractual requirements, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits and reviews to assess compliance with contractual requirements, internal policies, and relevant regulations. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and auditors, as necessary.
  • Training and Guidance: Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on government contracting processes, compliance requirements, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure understanding and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, subcontractors, and other external partners involved in contract execution. Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries and issues, fostering open communication and resolving disputes effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the contract management and compliance functions. Propose and implement initiatives to streamline processes, reduce risks, and optimize contract performance.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, or a related field. A Juris Doctor degree is highly desired
  • Demonstrated experience in government contracting, contract management, or compliance roles, preferably within the public sector or government contracting industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR), government contracting principles, and compliance requirements applicable to government contracts (e.g., DFARS, ITAR, FAR).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex contractual and regulatory requirements, identify risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance, coupled with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools and technologies.
