Responsibilities

 

 

As an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) at PeopleTec, Inc., you will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and confidentiality of our organization's information systems and data. You will work closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), IT teams, management, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective security measures, policies, and procedures to protect against potential threats and vulnerabilities.

 

  • Develop, implement, and enforce information security policies, standards, and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify potential anomalies/vulnerabilities and recommend remediation measures.
  • Perform continuous monitoring activities to include vulnerability scanning, auditing, operating system patching, antivirus scans and updates, STIG/SCAP configurations and scanning and updates, self-inspections, policy and procedure updates and reviews, and configuring and verifying backups.
  • Manage access controls, including user access rights, privileges, and permissions, to ensure least privilege principle and segregation of duties.
  • Assist with data transfers and other privileged user tasks.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.
  • Provide guidance and support to IT teams and end-users on security best practices, security awareness training, and security incident handling procedures.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and make recommendations for continuous improvement of security posture.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address security requirements for new projects, systems, and applications.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, including security risk assessments, security plans, and security incident reports.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CompTIA Security+) preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 years) working in information security, cybersecurity, or a related field, with a focus on information system security management.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and standards, including but not limited to NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF), 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule, and Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM).
  • Strong understanding of network security, encryption, authentication, and access control technologies.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM, antivirus, and endpoint security solutions.
  • COMSEC experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
