Senior Software Developer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Software Developer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

This is NOT a remote position. Our team is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our development team. We are creating a new data-intensive product for the US Army. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in full-stack development, with expertise in React, Postgres, Azure Functions, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Docker, Linux and/or Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). This role requires a blend of front-end wizardry, backend efficiency, and a keen eye for scalability and security in cloud-based environments.

Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, and ExpressJS.
• Leverage Azure Functions for serverless architecture, ensuring efficient backend processing with minimal latency.
• Implement and maintain databases using Postgres, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code across the full stack, adhering to best practices in software development.
• Create, test, and debug services deployed to Docker containers or Azure functions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and functionality.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through robust testing and debugging practices.
• Lead the integration of third-party services and APIs, enhancing application capabilities and user experience.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development, particularly within the React and Azure ecosystems.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js, ExpressJS.
• Extensive experience with Azure Functions and cloud-based architectures.
• Solid understanding of database design and development, specifically with Postgres.
• Experience with Python and its application in data manipulation or backend services.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s)
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges creatively and effectively.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in agile development environments.
• Located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a proven track record in full-stack development.
