Cloud Engineer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Cloud Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is a company that hires and develops technology talent and puts them to work on client projects across the United States.  We specialize in full stack development, Cloud, DevSecOps, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence (BI), Data Science, Machine Learning (ML) related initiatives, both in the federal and commercial space. We are currently seeking a Cloud Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location. The Cloud Engineer serves as an engineer deploying, optimizing, and maintaining an evolving cloud environment that supports our DoD customer.

Duties:

• Design, implement and manage cloud-based solutions
• Develop and implement network security groups and Palo Alto firewalls in a cloud environment
• Implement DoD approved enterprise authentication in Azure
• Implement Role Based Access for a multi-platform product in Azure
• Responsible for an efficient development and operational cloud environment
• Assist with technical documentation and implementation of NIST SP 800-171
• Assist in the development and maintenance of continuous integration and DEVOPS process for cloud products
• Support team in providing knowledge of cloud technologies for future improvement of product.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 2-5 years’ experience working in Azure cloud environments
• Cloud service/vendor certification from Azure
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Experience with implementing Enterprise Authentication and Role Based Access
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services
• Experience using Azure Bicep to implement Infrastructure as Code
• Experience using Ansible to configure servers and workstations
• Strong networking background with knowledge in IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Palo Alto firewall, load balancer, DNS, etc.
• Ability to get CompTIA Sec+ within six months and the ability to acquire DoD 8570.O1M IAT Level III certification during contract
• Travel: 5 %
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Candidates are required to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI Clearance upon hire.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors/Master's degree in network engineering, computer science, cyber security, or other related degree

Desired Skills:

• Experience using Terraform to implement Infrastructure as Code
• Experience with DoD cloud environments
• Experience using AWS
• Experience using VMware
• Experience working with clients to gather project requirements
• Experience working in and applying STIG and other server hardening settings in a cloud environment
• Certifications: CISSP or Cloud Related certifications
