Responsibilities

PeopleTec is currently seeking a System Architect - Data to support our Huntsville, AL location.

We are currently seeking a mid/senior-level Product Manager to support our Huntsville location.

 

We are seeking a visionary System Architect - Data to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and implementing a robust data mesh infrastructure to support the decentralized management of data across multiple domains. The role requires deep technical expertise in data architecture, software development, and a solid understanding of organizational change management to drive the adoption of a data mesh model.

 

Duties:

  • Oversee the deployment of integrated components to include cloud, data, and software services.
  • Design and develop large scale data mesh architectures supporting multiple customers and requirements with the ability to integrate emerging technology (cloud, AI/ML).
  • Collaborate with domain teams to identify domain-specific data and operationalize data ownership and data product creation.
  • Lead the implementation of tooling and infrastructure to support automated data discovery, cataloging, and observability.
  • Develop and enforce best practices and standards for data governance, quality, and interoperability within the data mesh framework.
  • Oversee the deployment of distributed data infrastructure components, such as data catalogs, domain-specific data pipelines, and APIs.
  • Build and maintain the infrastructure and pipelines required for the data mesh. Implement the architecture and ensure that data flows efficiently between different domains.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • At least 5 years of data architecture design and development experience with various data storage, processing technologies, and modern data architecture principles such as domain-driven design.
  • Proven experience in cloud platforms (data services), big data technologies, Azure cloud services, including Azure Functions, Azure Synapse pipelines and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms (e.g., cloud data services, Kafka, Spark) and data modeling techniques.
  • Proficient in software development with experience in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
  • Experience with DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive change across organizational boundaries.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality management, and data security practices.
  • Previous experience with implementing a data mesh or similar decentralized data architectures is highly desirable.
  • Located in the Huntsville, AL area or willing to relocate.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Travel: 20 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
