PeopleTec is currently seeking a Lethality Test and Analysis Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

PeopleTec is seeking a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will be a member of our Huntsville lethality test and analysis team and will work on projects involving various Department of Defense and Department of Energy programs, developing, executing, and managing system and component-level analyses. Our team members represent some of the foremost experts in hypervelocity impact testing and post-impact analysis and have the opportunity to work with a wide-ranging group of Customers to develop innovative and creative solutions to address the nation’s most pressing challenges.

 

Duties Include:

  • Hydrocode and Hydrostructural Analysis: Perform pre-test and post-test analyses of hypervelocity impact events; update analyses to align with empirical data as required
  • Test and Analysis Program Support: Provide support to a variety of test and analysis programs conducted for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE)
  • Collaboration and Experiment Design: Collaborate closely with DOD and DOE personnel in designing experiments and developing associated analysis programs
  • Presentation and Reporting: Effectively communicate results and findings to senior-level government and corporate officials through detailed presentations and reports
  • Hands-On Integration: A keen interest in combining hands-on test execution and hardware preparation with sophisticated modeling and simulation efforts

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience running and interpreting structural and hydrodynamic simulations using tools such as CTH, ALE3D, Zapotec, Paradyne, and/or Abaqus Explicit
  • Experience with HPC environments, encompassing job scheduling, resource allocation, and parallel processing for efficient simulation execution
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB, with the ability to automate simulations and perform complex data analyses
  • Travel: up to 25 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

 

Preferred/ Desired Education/ Experience Requirements:

  • Master of Science Degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline and 4 years or more of professional experience

    -OR-

    Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, or a related discipline and 6 years or more of professional experience
