PeopleTec is currently seeking a Facility and Safety Lead to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

We are seeking a Facility and Safety Lead to join our team at PeopleTec. In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee day-to-day facilities operations and maintenance in a small-scale production environment to foster a safe, functional, and efficient workplace. The Facility and Safety Lead role involves maintaining building systems and property as well as developing, implementing, and monitoring the health and safety program. In this role you will work with facility staff, PeopleTec infrastructure groups, and vendors to ensure that all areas of the building are secure and operating optimally. You will also work closely with other disciplines such as Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.

 

Duties:

  • Coordinate with project personnel and infrastructure groups to ensure compliance with all requirements and facilitate adherence to production schedules.
  • Ensure cleanliness, functionality, and overall safety of all physical spaces.
  • Maintain the building and building systems by tracking and coordinating cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Coordinate and manage renovation projects, building improvements, or new facility construction as needed.
  • Maintain equipment by tracking and scheduling maintenance, calibrations, and repairs.
  • Ensure safety policies are in place, records are maintained, and that a safe working environment is maintained through regular inspections and continual improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain and update emergency response plans, including fire, weather, and medical emergencies.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, including informal and formal audits.
  • Work towards continual improvement in Quality and Safety.
  • Manage shipping and receiving functions at the facility, coordinating with the corporate Procurement department as needed.
  • Assist with project-level emergency and disaster planning.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Experience with inventory tracking and maintenance
  • Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and regulations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and interface with personnel from all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as ISO9001 or AS9100
  • Ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks
  • Travel: 5 %
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Final SECRET (or higher) clearance valid within 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Vetting (CV) - an active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates must have an active SECRET clearance upon hire, with the ability to be nominated for and granted access to additional programs, and must maintain this level of clearance throughout their employment

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or 10 years of experience (years of experience may be accepted in lieu of degree)

 

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. This role may also require standing for hours at a time.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with government property management
  • Familiarity with OSHA guidelines for production environments and/or S&T work environments
  • Experience with General contracting
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems, programs, and processes
  • Forklift certification
