Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

The candidate will serve as a Senior Quality Engineer within a Project Management Office (PMO) within PEO Missiles and Space (PEO MS) and will be responsible for providing technical support to the program’s Chief Engineer and the Product Manager. The candidate will be responsible for leading quality assurance initiatives across product’s entire lifecycle. This includes design & development verification, testing, integration, fielding, and final inspection stages to ensure defense systems meet stringent standards and PMO expectations. The candidate will implement rigorous testing protocols and continuous improvement strategies to manage quality assurance processes effectively. Will provide technical guidance and leadership in quality management, ensuring compliance with defense and industry standards, and coordinating closely with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. The candidate will prepare, and present quality assurance findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders. Will work within and/or lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve program goals. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager.

 

Duties:

  • Lead quality assurance initiatives for defense systems, covering the full product lifecycle from design verification to final inspection.
  • Develop and implement rigorous testing protocols and continuous improvement strategies to meet stringent defense standards and customer expectations.
  • Provide technical support in quality management, including the development, acquisition, integration, testing, fielding, and sustainment of defense capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with defense and industry standards by managing quality assurance processes effectively.
  • Interface with internal teams and external organizations to coordinate quality assurance objectives and strategies.
  • Prepare and present quality assurance findings, reports, and improvement plans to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct strategic planning and coordination to support quality assurance program objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to peer and subordinate engineers within the Quality Assurance team.
  • Use digital tools and methodologies to manage cost, schedule, and performance for assigned Quality Assurance activities.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager, the Chief Engineer and/or Product Manager.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 9 years of relevant experience. Additional education may be substituted for years of experience.
  • Extensive experience in quality assurance, particularly within defense or aerospace industries
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and defense quality requirements
  • Proven ability to implement testing protocols and continuous improvement strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to lead and work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Travel: 25%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI elilgibilty is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance with Top Secret/SCI Eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment. Top Secret/ SCI upon hire is preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
