Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a System Architect to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

We are seeking an experienced System Architect to assist with the design, development, and integration of a Digital Test Environment (DTE) supporting next-generation defense and engineering programs. This role focuses on system architecture while also providing oversight and guidance for software architecture, ensuring that software and system designs remain aligned and scalable across the enterprise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • System Architecture
    • Design and implement private cloud and public cloud architectures for the DTE.
    • Architect connectivity between edge devices, far edge compute, and enterprise cloud ecosystems.
    • Define layered orchestration of digital engineering tools, services, and workflows.
    • Architect and integrate distributed test automation solutions.
    • Deliver Digital ICD solutions to ensure interoperability across systems.
  • Software Architecture Oversight
    • Provide technical oversight to ensure software designs align with system-level architecture.
    • Support adoption of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized solutions.
    • Review and validate software components for scalability, modularity, and compliance with overall architecture.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Knowledge Discovery
    • Enable knowledge discovery through intelligent search, pattern recognition, and data mining.
    • Support AI-enabled orchestration of digital engineering workflows and decision-support systems.
  • Data Management & Orchestration
    • Architect data management strategies for ingestion, storage, and lifecycle governance of test data.
    • Implement data orchestration pipelines for secure, scalable, and efficient handling of distributed data.
    • Ensure data integrity, discoverability, and accessibility across multi-cloud and edge environments.
  • Collaboration & Innovation
    • Partner with stakeholders to translate mission needs into actionable architectures.
    • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, CMMC).

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in system architecture for complex, distributed environments.
  • Proven experience with private and public cloud implementations (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware).
  • Familiarity with edge and far edge computing integrations.
  • Understanding of software architecture principles and experience providing oversight to development teams.
  • Hands-on knowledge of AI/ML concepts, analytics platforms, and knowledge discovery methods.
  • Strong background in data management, orchestration, and governance.
  • Experience with cross-domain solutions in secure environments.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Desired Skills:

  • DoD/Defense acquisition program experience.
  • Experience with digital engineering toolchains (Cameo, Teamcenter, DOORS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with test and evaluation environments and distributed simulation/test automation.
  • Certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, or DoD 8570 IAT Level II/III.
  • Excellent communication skills for bridging system, software, and data teams
