Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a System Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

We’re seeking an exceptionally motivated, self-starting Systems Engineer with a strong background in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support the Innovation & Integration (I&I) Lab. You will provide hands-on technical leadership to a cross-functional team of aviation, network, software/hardware, and integration professionals designing, modeling, and validating TSN-based digital backbone architectures.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with designing architectures, and developing system models in SysML using tools like Cameo and MagicDraw to ensure requirements traceability and integration across complex aviation systems, often within a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) framework.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide systems engineering and MBSE thought leadership and expertise to the development and evaluation of complex strategic deterrent systems and supporting infrastructure.
  • Develop digital models to manage and analyze complex systems, ensuring requirements are met, and systems are designed and validated effectively.
  • Develop and analyze compliance of Component Design Models (CDMs) with system specifications.
  • Build and implement system/subsystem digital twins for integration and evaluation of TSN toolchains, avionics, and mission-critical LRUs.
  • Apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, and requirements management.
  • Apply MBSE  in SysML using tools like Cameo and MagicDraw to support I&I Lab systems integration, test (verification), validation
  • Collaborate with SMEs and government stakeholders to ensure TSN SIL test strategies align with Army digital backbone objectives

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency with MBSE platforms: Rhapsody, MagicDraw, DOORS, SysML.
  • Strong understanding of acquisition lifecycle and systems engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated technical and project leadership in aviation or mission-critical systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity and experience with FVL Architecture Framework (FAF), Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE), Integrated Modular Avionics (DO-297, ARINC 653/661).
  • Knowledge of safety standards (DO-178B/C, DO-254).
  • Experience leading IPTs and coordinating across multiple stakeholders for MBSE project.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. 

Desired Skills:

  • Programming experience (Python, MATLAB).
  • Exposure to T&E in HWIL environments (e.g., CAPTE-VCS, LRU integration).
  • Experience with DoD Aviation programs.
  • Experience with data analysis, statistics, and digital test/reporting methods.
