Lethality Target Modeling Engineer

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Lethality Target Modeling Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking a motivated individual who is interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting-edge technologies for missile defense lethality. The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on projects involving HWIL tests, flight tests, and lethality tests.

Our team supports state-of-the-art projects, blending engineering skills to perform end-game lethality and debris research, analysis, and M&S development. Team members work with a range of customers to understand project requirements and develop innovative and creative solutions to address the nation’s most pressing challenges.

The successful candidate will be an adaptable, agile, multi-talented, and versatile engineer who is a team player capable of working with a range of CAD, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to generate target and threat models for use in engineering codes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and possess effective communication skills.

Duties Include:

• Review missile CAD, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials and identify any gaps, inconsistencies, or incorrect data
• Use CAD, drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and engineering principles to generate models for threat and test target objects.
• Support lethality tests for insights into target modeling improvements.
• Document results and communicate to team, customer, and stakeholders.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 0 – 5 years. Entry level applicants (without job experience) will need to substantiate CAD / analysis training

• Travel: Minimal
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire (or the ability to obtain), and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university.

Desired Skills:

• Proficiency using CAD software.
• Experience writing and using scripts (e.g., MATLAB, Python, etc.) to automate analysis.
• Sound oral communication and technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate results to the team and the government customer
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Aerospace design and assembly experience.
